Les Terrasses Chateauneuf-du-Pape
Deep and complex with fresh aromas of ripe red berries, wild strawberries and savory herbs. Flavors of dark cherries, forest fruits, anise, and black pepper. Well ripened but not over-extracted, with fine tannin and velvety texture, and medium to full body. Pair with grilled red meats, braised stews, game birds, spicy sausages, and washed-rind cheeses.
Single vineyard estate named after the famous terraces where the vineyard is situated. Rocky topsoil with large pebbles and subsoil of limestone and clay. Exposure to the Mistral cools the vineyard and reduces disease pressure
2021 was an excellent vintage with a warm, sunny growing season benefitting from 3 short heatwaves and intermittent rain showers, the last of which came late in the season invigorating the grapes just before harvest. Ideal growing conditions created small, concentrated berries producing fresh, elegant wines with good complexity and depth of color, balanced alcohol, and approachable tannin.
